Abbott Elementary’s Quinta Brunson surprises Jim Gardner during the 6abc Dunkin’ Thanksgiving Day Parade

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Quinta Brunson, the creator and star of ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” surprised our Jim Gardner during the 6abc Dunkin’ Thanksgiving Day Parade.

It is clear that they are both fans of each other.

“You’re redoing the television landscape,” Gardner said is a heartwarming introduction to Brunson. “Oh my god, it’s so nice to meet you.”

“It’s so nice to meet you. Thanks for being on my show. Now everyone knows the beauty of Jim Gardner,” replied Brunson, a West Philadelphia native.

Brunson’s show, “Abbott Elementary” “follows a documentary crew as they film the lives of teachers and students at a struggling, underfunded Philadelphia school.

The show became ABC’s first comedy to quadruple its ratings since its premiere.

Brunson and actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, who is married to Pennsylvania State Senator Vincent Hughes, both locked up Emmy wins earlier this year.
