Black Friday Cycling Live: Deals on bikes, helmets, tech and more

Update

For those of you just waking up in the US, here are some key findings so far:

๐Ÿšฒ 25% off sitewide at Rapha

๐Ÿšฒ 20% off all full price items at Jenson USA with BLACKFRIDAY

and some specific offers that we will outline nowโ€ฆ

But you’re here for deals, and as always, in our quest to share the best Black Friday bike deals, we’re happy to oblige:

On the back of the test, two of our testers shared their key takeaways in the following post:

Six things I learned by testing winter gloves

Each of these pages contains a list of our recommendations based on months of testing in all weathers, good, bad and worse.

On that subject, before I share some of the deals we’ve found, a few helpful articles:

We recently completed a number of important winter-focused group tests.

Random Interlude:

If you’re a cyclist in the UK, you probably wish the good weather would come back.

We looked, and unfortunately there aren’t any Black Friday deals on godly powers, so I’m afraid we can’t help you change the seasons. You could go to British Airways (opens in new tab) and move abroad in the next few months, but I assume that is not possible.

The next best thing to beating the weather when riding your bike is dressing appropriately for โ€“ or avoiding โ€“ the conditions, and we can certainly help with that.

Whether that means using our Black Friday cycling clothing offer to invest in a winter-ready wardrobe and tackle the elements head on, or by using our Black Friday turbo trainer deals to prepare your pain den and avoid the weather altogether, there are Black Friday deals to help.

However, the Garmin offers do not stop at computers. Smartwatches are regularly among the most sought-after items in Black Friday sales, and this year the deals look to be better than ever. Here are a few highlights:

UK offer ๐Ÿ‘‡

USA offer ๐Ÿ‘‡

Looking first at bike computers, there are some seriously good deals out there, especially in the UK.

Fun fact: the name ‘Garmin’ was created by smashing the two founders’ names together. Walksy Burrell and Mine As.

First of all, we are talking about technology:

The Garmin brand is never one to shy away from a big sale, and whether it’s directly on the Garmin website or at other retailers like Amazon, Wiggle or Competitive Cyclist, there’s almost always a Garmin deal to be found. That’s why we have a separate page dedicated to it Black Friday Garmin acts.

The Garmin brand, if you’re not familiar, is an American brand that specializes in GPS technology. It is the market leader in various categories, across cycling, marine, driving, golf and much more. For cyclists, these categories include GPS cycling computers, smartwatches, as well as peripherals such as lights and power meters.

To kick things off, I’d like to introduce myself. Josh, technical editor here at Cyclingnews, is writing this live blog at the moment. I am ably supported by Will and Tom, who are both busy finding offers and updating our other various deals.

Either way, keep this page open and you’ll see the best deals as soon as we find them!

Or to put it in English: When we find some great deals, there can be a flurry of posts in quick succession, and while we’re trawling for more, we’ll lighten up.

In an effort to test our early winter endurance training, we intend to run this live blog from today until Cyber โ€‹โ€‹Monday. We’ll try to keep the intensity at a solid zone two throughout, but we can get ahead of ourselves on the climbs, and we can’t promise we won’t sprint for city road signs.

And they’re off! Welcome.
