England v USA livescore and latest World Cup updates – Harry Kane has early chance blocked in Qatar

World Cup: US goalkeeper Matt Turner calls England ‘tournament favourites’

England face the USA in Group B of the World Cup on Friday in Qatar. The Three Lions won their opening game in style against Iran, cruising to a 6-2 victory as Bukayo Saka, Jude Bellingham, Raheem Sterling and Jack Grealish all got on the scoresheet for Gareth Southgate’s side.

Harry Kane has shaken off an injury scare and is fit to play after undergoing a scan on his ankle this week, while Harry Maguire has also declared himself fit to start after an illness. Southgate has therefore named an unchanged team.

England will want to end an unwanted record and claim their first win over the USA at a World Cup. The USA famously defeated England at the 1950 World Cup before Rob Green’s error resulted in a 1-1 draw in South Africa in 2010.

The match starts at 10pm local time (7pm GMT) and will be live on ITV. For those in the US, it’s 2:00 PM ET/11:00 PM PT and airs on Fox and Telemundo.

England vs USA commentators: Who are the ITV pundits at Qatar World Cup?

Every World Cup game from Qatar will be shown live in the UK on either the BBC or ITV, with England’s second match on ITV and across all of the broadcaster’s streaming platforms.

That means the game will be soundtracked by ITV’s ‘A-team’ commentary of Sam Matterface and Lee Dixon – and the people on the mic always share opinions.

Analyst Dixon played over 450 league games for Arsenal before turning to punditry.

Main commentator Matterface appears primarily on ITV but also commentates on TalkSport radio.
