Unlike previous games i Pokémon main series, red and Violet has made fan-favorite Eevee quite difficult to catch. Only appearing in a few small areas, and with very low spawn rates, trying to evolve the octet of Eeveelutions has never been harder. But this weekend is the games first Tera Raid Battle Event should make catching the starch much easier.

At any other time, if you want an Eevee, go to Area 3 in the Western Province, Area 2 in the Southern Province, or the path on the way to the Pokémon League. However, this weekend after Thanksgiving, it has been announced that the Tera Raid Battle Event will feature an Eevee Spotlight.

Eevee takes place starting today, Friday the 25th from 11.00 up to and including Monday 28. 10.59, and Eevee is much more likely to appear in Tera Raid Battles – the ones triggered by approaching the large glowing crystals that shoot large beams of light into the sky. Which means not only will Eevee be easier to find, but you’ll also have the chance to collect a bunch of them with different Tera types – meaning they’ll change from Normal type to any of 19 others .

There is a small caveat, but not a major one. In order for the Raid Battle Event to trigger in your game, you must have your Switch connected to the internet long enough to download the latest “Poké Portal News”, which should download automatically if you’re already online. And no, it has nothing to do with the paid online Switch subscription, so don’t worry about that. All for free.

With a clutch Eevee under your belt, you’ll probably start thinking about evolving them into their eight different forms. (All my hopes for a ninth Paldean Eevee seem to have been dashed.) Here are some handy tips for getting all eight eeveelutions:

Flareon: Give your Eevee a Firestone.

Glaceon: Give your Eevee an ice cube.

Jolteon: Give your Eevee a Thunder Stone.

Leaf: Give your Eevee a leaf stone.

Vaporeon: Give your Eevee a water stone.

Espeon: You need your Eevee at a high friendship level, make sure it doesn’t know any Fairy moves, and then have it evolve throughout the day.

Umbreon: High friendship again, don’t let it learn any Fairy moves, then have it evolve at night.

Sylveon: Once again a high friendship level, but this time you have to make sure of it do know a fairy move, develop it day or night.

Combined with Tera Types from Tera Battles, this will be unbelievable complicated! Good luck!
