WC livescore, updates: USA vs. England score; FIFA World Cup 2022 bracket, USMNT schedule, standings

The main event on Day 6 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar is here, with England and USA battling it out with the top of Group B on the line. Wales vs. Iran started the match in dramatic fashion from the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium as the second round of games got under way in Group B.

A game that looked set for a fifth 0-0 draw of the tournament was spared for life in the last 20 minutes with a red card for Wales keeper Wayne Hennessey seeing red, followed by two late Iran goals that keep the nations hopes alive for advancement.

Then, Senegal’s win against Qatar sent the hosts heading for elimination from the tournament. The Netherlands and Ecuador battled it out for top spot in Group A. The two teams battled to a deserved draw in the 90 minutes, with Cody Gakpo helping the Dutch with an early goal in the first half. Enner Valencia scored the equalizer for Ecuador and the goal was his third of the tournament. The two teams are now level in the group with four points each with one game remaining in the group stage.

With three games in the books, today’s most important self takes center stage, with England facing the USA men’s national team. With Iran’s victory over Wales, the winner of this match is virtually (or in England’s case actually) guaranteed to progress to the knockout stages. Can the USA Men’s National Team pull off an upset or will England roll?
